Blue Dawn

Chapter 1: The Early Years

I was born in Bastok during the closing years of the War. I never knew my father nor do i remember much of my mother, but i do know that she was a refugee from the Tavnazia Archipelago, before the shadows engulfed it. My farther, i learned later in life, was a member of the Bastokian navy during the War.

The last I saw my mother was the night I met Mighty Hammer, a skilled Galkan blacksmith of the guild. He took me in to his home in the mining part of the city, it was here I learned how to use weapons from the many adventurers that passed through. Soon my strength had grown and an urge for adventure began to take hold, this culminated on my 18Th year when a group of upper class Hume thugs attacked Mighty Hammer in Gustaberg, after one of them had broken a sword, made for them by Mighty Hammer, out of their own stupidity. He had just given me a fine great axe and had told me that his time was near, that he would have to make his final journey. At that point the thugs attacked.

Out of a rocky outcrop they sprang, wielding weapons that, though well made, were little but ornaments. The three Humes charged, shouting vile hate towards Galkas. The first saw me and raised a sword in a charge that was unsure and hesitant. And fatal. Blocking his first strike with the axe, I swung the axe and hit him straight in the chest, cutting strait throught the thin armour he was wearing. He fell to the ground, and moved no more. I turned and looked at Mighty Hammer he had just stabbed one of the other thugs with a small dagger he always carried. The other snuck up behind him and stabed him through the stomach. In anger i charged and cleaved his head clean off. Turning to Hammer a tear fell from my eye. He looked up at me. His eyes were worn and fading but the wisdom still shone through. He told me that the guards would belive that he had murdered the Humes. He told me to run to Selbina where he had a friend. He looked deep into my eyes and said
'May your star shine for ever more like a fine jewl in the sky.'
With that he passed into the arms of Altana.

I got up made my way to Konschtat. As the barren wastes of Gustaberg gave way to green fields i stopped and looked out at the windmills before. I fell to the ground clutching my leg in pain. I looked down to see thick red blood oozing out from an arrow shaft...

I dunno why, but I simply cannot read things like this.

Hell, if I write a short story for english, I can't even stand to read my own story again later...

Except my English Prelim.

I loved that story.

Shoulda adapted it to the question I chose in the Exam...

OR MADE A SEQUAL!

:o

/tangent off.
